Built by people who kept losing their favorite queer shows to cancellation.
QueerChest started as a shared drive of recommendations between friends and grew into a proper home for queer stories — the ones that get made with care and the ones that almost didn't get made at all.
What we're building
Most catalogs treat queer stories as a single row buried three scrolls down. We wanted the opposite: a place where those stories are the whole catalog, sorted by mood and genre instead of by how "safe" they are to recommend.
That means originals commissioned from queer creators, documentaries that don't flatten history into a single Pride month, and a lot of comedy — because joy is part of the record too.
How we choose what to make
Every original starts with a writer's room, not a trend report. We fund projects that a mainstream slate would call "niche," and we let genre be genre — romance gets to be soft, horror gets to be scary, and documentaries get to sit with hard history without rushing to a tidy ending.
Community-first
Storylines and casting decisions are reviewed by community advisors before a single frame is shot.
Genuinely global
Originals are commissioned from creators across dozens of countries, not just the usual two or three markets.
No cliffhanger cancellations
We greenlight full arcs upfront, so a season finale is never secretly a series finale.
